ABOUT TWEETY JILL PUBLICATIONS

Meet Jill Haglund

Jill Haglund, Founder, CEO and Creative Director of TweetyJill Publications (www.tweetyjill.com), thinks of herself as an artist first and a publisher second because that’s what got her got started…. her love of creating artful items. She always affords time to dabble at various craft projects even with a busy production schedule.

TweetyJill Publications was launched in 1997 when Jill published The Complete Guide to Scrapbooking, an overnight success. Currently producing its 18th successful book, the company now sells to all the major craft stores, including Michaels, Hobby Lobby, A.C. Moore, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Borders and independent retail craft and book stores.

Jill is passionate about inspiring others and providing ideas for the novice as well as the seasoned crafter through her books and the hundreds of classes she has taught over the years. She has been fortunate to have taught classes at Exposures in New York City, at all of the Retail Scrapbook Association trade shows, Cord Camera Workshops, Michaels stores, the Craft & Hobby Industry Association, Barnes & Noble and many independently owned retail scrapbook and stamp stores — encouraging others by using her talent as the avenue to reach like-minded artists.

Jill absolutely loves her creative life and her studio, where there is something to work on in every corner. Decorated in a mélange of antiques, vintage and reclaimed furniture she has brought to life with her creative touch, it’s this artist’s dream-come-true. Seeing storage jars, tins and colored glass bowls filled with art materials inspires her every moment she is there, which is most of the time.

Her favorite medium is collage — she loves images of nature: birds, flowers, plants and travel photos. Favorite ephemera includes all types of handwritten English and foreign script documents she collected in Europe, pages from out-of-date vintage books, images on transparences, canceled postage stamps and vintage postcards.

Her creative juices constantly flowing, Jill is never one to stand still. She is now offering her new Collage & Ephemera Postcard Collection, as well as a special quarterly publication called Creatively Yours. TweetyJill Publications has also produced a bestselling paper book called Scrapbook & Collage Papers ~ The European Collection. This 80-page double-sided pad is full of 12”x 12” beautifully designed papers, as well as marbled papers commissioned by an Italian artist along with original French scripts, texts and vintage ephemera that will keep you creating for a year! Students use this paper book in her workshop — each attendee receives one — along with the companion title, Vintage Collage for Scrapbooking.

Jill lives in Sarasota, on the west coast of Florida, with her three collage-age offspring happily nearby.
